The Reiss Partnership was established in 1996
by W. Tjark Reiss (1913-2001), the son and sole heir of Winold
Reiss. His wish was to create a vehicle for fostering awareness
of Winold Reiss’s artistic legacy and to make it accessible
to a broad public. This website has been created by the Partnership
in cooperation with the privately owned Reiss Archives to disseminate as well as gather accurate information about
the life and work of Winold Reiss and about people associated
with him. It will be periodically updated to reflect current
research.
We welcome your comments and/or information
about Winold Reiss, about his works (location, provenance,
etc.), or about people connected with him (students, friends,
fellow artists). Much research remains to be done, and all
information will aid our continuing efforts to compile a Winold
